Estella Bartlett - eCommerce Packaging Case Study

While sitting, notebook poised, on the front row of Vivienne Westwood’s Autumn-Winter 2010 show, a text popped up on her phone ‘’Sis, you and I should go into business together!’’

Bespoke packaging for ecommerce

A brand that combined his business acumen with his sister’s fashion credentials... a few months later in June 2011, Estella Bartlett was born.Estella Bartlett - eCommerce Packaging Case Study

The Challenge

Estella Bartlett is a playful and feminine lifestyle brand; a destination for both timeless & trend-aligned jewellery and accessories. Defined by a playful and chic approach, all designs are unique and are created in-house at their London studio so having the perfect packaging that not only matched this but that was eco-friendly was key.

The Problem

Offering a range of beautiful Jewellery, Bags and Accessories on their website saw customers ordering many different combinations of items which meant having a variety of different sizes and styles of packaging available. They needed a packaging solution that would allow them to reduce the number of boxes, mailbags and void fill they used, become more eco-friendly and still deliver that timeless feminine lifestyle brand of Estella Bartlett.

The Solution

We first met with the creative team at Estella Bartlett back in October 2018 at their studio in London. Knowing what they were trying to achieve as a brand and also knowing what we could create gave us the perfect opportunity to present the Breezebox. With features like its innovative popup construction, 100% recyclable and FSC® certified material along with plant based ink to name a few, we knew we would be heading down the right path.

One of the benefits presented to Estella Bartlett was the patented self-adhesive paper which the Breezebox is aligned with. This paper allows customers to remove the use of void fill and secure the product in place with a self-adhesive paper that sticks to itself. After looking at a variety of sizes and options we were able to come up with a solution that would not only save time, money and deliver on that customer opening experience but also pull through the class and elegance of their brand.

The Outcome

After many months of hard work alongside Estella Bartlett’s creative team we were able to launch 3 stunning breezeboxes that would enable them to reduce the number of boxes/mailbags they used, reduce packing speeds, remove the use of void fill and improve on the overall customer experience. Minimal packaging with its play on pinks and peachy colours along with a dreamy cloud motif provides the finishing touch to this modern, playful brand.
